Why does Google say that we are Permanently Closed?! Do they not know everything? Whittaker’s is open as usual and ready for your visit! In the meantime, welcome to our new, temporary website. Here’s a little info while we are in between websites…

Sunday 24 February, at 5pm: ‘Summer Winds’ Five highly accomplished Auckland-based wind players formed the Manawa Wind Quintet out of a desire to explore the rich repertoire for the wind quintet, and to share a variety of pieces of differing styles and genres with audiences. Book your seats for their exciting Waiheke debut by emailing us. Tickets $25 ($20 Friends, $10 Students/Children)

Every Saturday at 1;30pm our founders, Lloyd (A. T. C. L.) and Joan Whittaker, present a show of around 1 hour 15 minutes. The Live Show is a wonderful combination of information about the instruments and the museum’s history, and demonstrations of many of the instruments, and is great fun for adults and children. Tickets $12.50 with discounts for seniors and children. Free entry for children accompanied by an adult, and for visitors accompanied by a Friend of Whittaker’s.

Currently, Lloyd and Joan’s Live Show is not running as usual, but other museum staff may be able to present the show for you. You might like to check about this with us before your Saturday visit.

Are you visiting Waiheke? Looking for an activity for kids these holidays? Ever played a harpsichord or heard the fairy tinkling of a dulcitone? Come and see Lloyd and Joan’s collection of beautiful musical instruments, each with its own story. You can even have a play on some of the instruments. The Museum is open every afternoon (except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day), entry is by donation.
